Release: Peter and the Starcatchers
Peter and the Starcatchers
Genre: Adventure/Fantasy
Director: Jon M. Chu
Cast: Wyatt Oleff, Rowan Blanchard, Luke Evans, Russell Brand, Jack Davenport, Andy Serkis, Ciaran Hinds, Kevin Durand, Max Charles, Jeremy Ray Taylor
Budget: $132,000,000
Domestic Box Office: $197,179,097
Foreign Box Office: $323,538,795
Total Profit: $304,755,622
Reaction: We obviously enjoy seeing numbers that high in the profit margins. The lack of stars helped keep the budget low and we focused the marketing on the fantastical special effects, which seems to have worked out well.
"Goodness, it's an un-magical affair, weighed down by flashy visual effects and a cumbersome, over-complicated story, and almost entirely devoid of anything resembling charm." - Heather Walters, Miami Herald
"While the cast appears to be having a good time with the spectacle of it all, the story is convoluted and the special effects, while plentiful, were a little too bright and silly for my eyes." - Ken Hammerschmidt, Washington Post
"The very idea behind the film is ill-conceived. Who wants a prequel to Peter Pan?" - Wayne Heathcliff, Kansas City Star
